Package for Freshman - Senior Years

 

  • Guide course selection

  • Provide an overview of the National Merit Scholarship Program

  • Assist in the selection of high school academic curricular choices and plan extracurricular activities, including meaningful summer activities

  • Assess career and possible college major interests

  • Explain and provide guidance through the college planning process (discussion of standardized tests, testing options, application deadlines, etc.)

  • Create a list of target schools for the student to visit and prepare the student to conduct meaningful visits

  • Evaluate the student’s record, including high school transcripts, standardized test results, extracurricular activities, athletic activities, and special talents

  • Generate a long list of good match schools

  • Create a list of target schools for the student to visit and prepare the student to conduct meaningful visits

  • Refer to resources for test preparation and academic tutoring, if necessary

  • Develop student interview skills and confidence through mock interviews

  • Guide the financial aid process

  • Assist in narrowing down the “long list” of good match schools to a shorter list of best match schools, with varying degrees of admission difficulty, to which the student will apply

  • Discuss and evaluate Early Decision, Early Action, Rolling, and Regular Application plans

  • Assist with preparation of activity list and/or resume

  • Provide guidance on recommendation letter writers

  • Assist on essays to be prepared by the student—primarily topic development and critique

  • Assist with preparation of supplemental materials
